This rare "blue ice" berg is composed of extremely dense ice that may have formed up to 10,000 years ago in the centre of Antarctica. After slowly travelling to the coast as part of a glacier, and breaking off, this iceberg may float around for years as it slowly melts. The blue is due to light shining through the berg form behind, all the red light being reflected back and only the blue light transmitting through to where you are viewing at the front.
